"Unfinished Poem
I would love to live like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding."

Morning Bridge Center was established in 2004 by Dr. Susy as a refuge for the spiritually weary. Expanding on this paradigm, the Sanders’ offer regular retreats for spiritual growth and development for people of all walks of life. The center has spaces that reflect all walks of life, as well. From Victorian whimsy to meditative purity, there is a space for everyone who seeks a place of refuge and spiritual contemplation. Prayer and meditation rooms are available. The center has three art studios equipped with weaving, spinning, painting, collage work, writing, drawing, and three-dimensional works. Nearby is a potter’s studio which also offers workshops during the summer months. A small gym with work-out equipment and a space for yoga is also available. Places of privacy and community are available in this little sanctuary.

Dr. Susy is accompanied by her husband, Davis, who provides support to the Morning Bridge compound in a variety of ways, not the least of which is his willingness to share his in-depth knowledge of the surrounding area and a love of minerals and geological formations. Davis provides a necessary balance to Susy‘s spiritual focus, with his grounding in earth and stone. Come and join us in the midst of the Western Mountains of Maine, nestled by the Sandy River in ah 1832 farmhouse setting. Morning Bridge Center offers refuge in a thin spot of the northern wilderness. Moose, fox, deer, bear and wild turkey abound; find poetry in the wildness; discover your heart in the midst of the sacred sanctuary of nature.
The Morning Bridge Center compound lies in the sleepy village of Phillips, Maine.
